This gun has never been fired. Chester Allen, the machinist builder, was too sick to finish it at the end of his life. This is a completed  Don Brown kit with a 33” fast twist 45 caliber  barrel designed for shooting conical bullets. The metal work is all done and the metal has been rust blued. The metal is completely and very precisely inletted into the wood and the stock has been finished and checkered. . The wood is nicely figured English walnut. This rifle has custom sights with a replaceable post on a custom front ramp and a custom windage and elevation adjustable rear aperture sight mounted on the tang. The barrel is fitted to a hook patent breech that permits easy removal of the barrel for cleaning and transport. A fiberglass ramrod is included.
