Swiss martini palm rest

Does anyone have a palm rest similar to the one in this picture? I bought a Swiss martini stutzer rifle which is missing its original palm rest so I'm looking to see if anyone could take some extra photos so I can try and build a replica.

In particular I'm trying to understand how the height adjustment is done. Once the lower 'clamp' is loosened is it just a smooth rod that slide up/down or is there a screw that the ball turns around?

Thanks
-Dave

The photos below are from a Stiegele that Mertz had on Guns Int'l a while back (and is now on Rock Island Auctions site).  They're not exactly like the one you show, but they might be useful for your project.

In answer to your question, yes, once the lower clamp is loostened the rod just slides up and down until you lock things down again.

Hey Dave, it's Rob. Let me see if my guy has one. Any news on the trigger?

Thanks yamoon and smoke -

I found another picture of a similar rest. It does look like (as in smokes picture) the center rod is solid (not threaded) and lower rod is a tube with a slit down the side, which I presume allows it to squeeze close when the clamp is tightened.

I'm still trying to understand how the upper joint releases and then locks in place.

Rob, haven't had a chance yet to look at the trigger yet. I'm in California so still have to wait ten (long) days to bring it home from the shop. I'll make another post here once I get it - I've found a few references on working on these German/swiss triggers so will try them out.

Thanks,
-Dave

Here's another pic of the palm rest on the Steigele.  It looks like it's just two flat surfaces, one against the other, with a screw to inhibit movement.

they seldom show up in the circles I've traveled in, but one fellow used his without it locking tight. It stopped where he used it against something and was held there by his hand pulling the rifle into his shoulder. The purpose of that was because the little grippy things on the lever would have interfered when opening the action. seemed to work to his satisfaction.
might not be a problem that way on your action, but it may save having to find a locking arrangement on a rest- and it needs the stop anyhow to find a consistent position. this from a fellow that never owned or used one at all. just a thought on what I saw  Huh
