CPA loop lever

CPA doesn't make their loop levers very often.  I have had one on back order for a long time and I finally got one today.

It makes my silhouette rifle feel much more natural in the prone position!

Before I call them up and ask, is there a way to adjust the droop of the lever?  The lever has about 1/8" of up and down play in it.  Like you'd see in a coil spring highwall with a weak plunger spring.  Not the end of the world but it'd be nice to take out that slack.

thanks,

Chris.

I’m more familiar with the original Stevens version.  But, I figure they are similar enough to ask if you moved the plunger and spring from the original lever?  If you have not, take note of the orientation of the plunger in the lever.  The original are slightly different from one side to the other.

Other than that CPA would need to be involved.

Hi Bob, I think you hit upon it.  I was looking at the old lever last night and noticed that there is a plunger and spring in it.  It's almost certain that the new lever didn't have one in it Smiley.

Move the plunger and I would bet the issue will go away.

It's not all that easy to get the lever plunger and spring installed on the link. Be careful so the spring and plunger doesn't shoot across the room when trying to get the link pin in.  Ask me how I know this.  Grin It took several hours to find both the spring and plunger.

Well Bob you were 100% correct.  It works perfectly with the spring and plunger in there  Grin

Sure Shot, after reading your post I was very careful with it.  I could see how it could shoot across the room and become hard to find  Smiley

Chris,
I recently ordered a CPA for my wife. I ordered it with the loop lever. Her hands being smaller, it looks like it should allow her a better purchase since it lays tighter to the curve of the pistol grip. Also, I just like the way it looks!

I just didn't like the feel of the ball and spur lever for shooting prone.  I ended up having to curl my pinky finger under the lever with two fingers in the little loop.  I was surprised at how small the loop lever is, but it definitely is going to work better for me than the ball and spur.
