Very unique. Never seen anything like it. Good selling point.

I have seen a very few cutaways- most were much more modern and not nearly as nicely presented. How did you discover this treasure? It must have an interesting tale to tell-
thanks for letting us have a look at it.  Smiley

This came out of an amazing collection that I have known about for years, quite a few top flight rifles including some very rare falling blocks rifle were in this collection including my own .303 Gibbs, my .303 Holland/Woodward(currently being restored, pics upon completion), a Fraser rook, a take-down Henry, a Rigby .350 Farquharson and a Jeffery .475#2. Some nice doubles rifles and rare shotguns in this collection as well. It has been a real pleasure finding them homes and a few even ended up with me.

Sort of along these lines. I have a Westley - Richard’s & Co. London Bullard .45. Apparently it was shipped to Westley-Richard’s in the white. Action and barrel British proofed WR serial # 1725.
For some time it was thought according to Bullard Firearms, G. Scott Jamieson, that there was only one such, serial #1724.
So it really is a salesman’s sample.

This is what the 1869 military model looked like. This one is in 500-450 #2 Musket. The safety slipped in behind the trigger to prevent it being pulled. It has accounted for 2 deer.

I have a wonderful 1869 sporting rifle that will soon be hitting the market, also in #2 musket.

Those sporters are beautiful rifles, for sure. The 500-450 #2 Musket (also known as the 450 #2 Westley Richards Target) was one of those inherently accurate rounds. Our list friend, Bert, shoots his in matches.

One of the  problems with these is that they all seem to be to be slightly different, not two are quite the same, except my two.  I had a third action only and it was slightly different internally.   Castings would be a cool idea however.

I have one in 1 1/2 Carbine and one 500 No.2.  The carbine is a plain full length military stock in carbine length.  I acquired in in South Africa where these guns were referred to as  Majuba Martini's.   The 500 No. 2 is a beautiful straight stocked Whitworth bore.

I would like to talk about about a .450 Musket, but my 401K took a hit this year with two high school graduations and bear hunting trip to Canada next week.  But a nice one of these in No.2 Musket and a PG stock, might make consider going into poor house for the rest of the year.
