Is Gail still associated with CPA?
I just put in an order for a rifle for my wife. The process seemed a bit unusual compared to other companies I’ve ordered rifles from.
Has anyone ordered a rifle from them lately?

Neil Eddington and Ross Peters of Ohio have purchased CPA Rifles.

As far as I know, Gail will be staying on and the operation will still be in PA.

The new owners will expand the capabilities of the Company.

Had a beautiful rifle delivered a couple months ago and all was going good then.

Mike,
Good to hear.
When I say”unusual” I’m not implying that anything is wrong.
I thought it was a bit unusual that there was no request for a down payment.

What caliber did you order for Joan?
Seems to me a 14 twist 40-65 might be best for her.
Can do it all

JKR,
Maybe things have changed. My last build ordered late last year required a $400.00 deposit, which I felt was quite reasonable.

The last time that I had CPA do some  work on a original 44 1/2, I dealt with Joel Penkala. I don't think that Gail is around much anymore?

Arnie,
I did order her a 40-65, but a 16 twist.
I suppose  could change it to a 14 but would first need to be convinced that it would be better!
Joan is excited about having her own rifle. She’s been shooting 500 yards at Spooner with Neal and I, using one of my 45-70’s. She’s doing very well except for the occasional bad shot. I guess we all have those.

Mike,
Yeah, it doesn’t seem quite right. I think it may have been overlooked somehow. Things didn’t seem real organized when I was talking to Neil.

You should get an email from CPA confirming your order and they now require a $500 deposit. They are now quoting 6-8 months lead time.

I placed the order and received confirmation by email. Never any mention of a deposit. I’ve phoned and emailed asking for a detailed breakdown of the order to make sure everything is as it should be. No return calls or emails. At this point, I’m not completely sure if I have a rifle ordered or not. I’ve decided to quit worrying about it and see how it plays out since I have no skin in the game so far.

I spoke to Gail today and confirmed my order and gave them a card no for the $500 deposit. They answered the phone yesterday and today when I called.

Did you use the phone number given on the CPA website to speak to Gail?

I called today and got to talk to Ross. Confirmed the order and made the deposit. All is good!
I learned that Neil and Gail are at Friendship which explains the unreturned calls.
