My guess is that it's for a 30/30 - 32/40 size case head.

Did you find out anything about it?

There was a 25 Schuetzen based on a 32 H&R or 327 federal necked down to 25. Maybe someone tried it as a straight 30 caliber to get a better bullet.

I bought for $100...Werner Wolf made it.I shot with Werner for almost 20 years. His health not good anymore.Need to get over and see him. He and Paul Shuttleworth were old buddies. As Paul worked on the 32-20 round.Werner made one in 30-20.I'm thinking it could be his prime deprime for that cartridge can use with  my 32-20.  I'll be driving up to get it this weekend maybe.

Werner's tools were based on George Schoyen's designs, and his workmanship was top notch! Sorry to hear he's having health issues, but glad he's still around.

Wont take 32-20. will take a 357 case. so maybe he had a 30 Wesson?  All quality, typical Werner !

I have a 30 caliber schuetzen rifle (Hall) that belonged to Russ Weber and it is based on the 357 Max case.
I refer to it as a 30 Miller Short, same case length as my 32 Miller Shorts just the case is just squeezed down a bit more for the .310 diameter bullets it uses.
Might be a possibility for this tools intended use?

Gerald

Well it works for both cases. there was a 357  custom die by Neil Jones there that at the time I did not see. Probably went with this deprimer.  But in my other post   "30 Schwartz " I showed pics of the chamber cast.....
