Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I've saved and often looked at HALP's galleries of old photos for a very long time, and every once in awhile I revisit them as I just love his images and the great photography! 
I am fortunate to own two of the firearms shown in his gallery, and appreciate being able to still access these pics as they're way better than I can ever do!
This is for those who haven't yet seen the late HALP's gallery of firearms:

Yes, only two. I wish I owned more the guns he's shown. I never did know if he owned all of them, some of them, or just took pictures of guns he examined? 
The Hubalek Rolling Block pistol is in my collection now, as is one of the Ballard rifles. 
Interesting that the Ballard #4 described as "Earliest #4 Ballard" is much higher than mine. The 2nd Ballard I ever bought is my early #4 in the low 400 serial range.

I purchased Hals DST Hepburn. What I didnt realize at the time is the lot before was an engraved Hepburn that was consecutive SN to the one I won. Oh well

The engraving on that Hepburn is just wonderful. Minimalistic, and I really like it.
