Lengthening what?

Here's another side project I have in the works.  I'm needing some triggers for a few different builds so here's pics of my approach.  The material was one of the many scraps left over from a job, it's 4140 - came up with a use now.

Now that's just too darned nifty! Are those machined with a CNC or by manual mill?

Vall,
The first set of these are hacked out on the manual mill just following the scribed lines.  The program for the CNC is almost done so maybe the next batch won't require quite as much file time...

First set didn't finish out so well, here's pics of the second set of triggers.  The trigger plate and triggers are lining up a little better on this little fella.

NICE trigger work Greg! Thems beautiful!!
I’ve had my own share of issues machining triggers as well! Did all the machining work on a Ballard dst and went to drill and ream the plate for the trigger pins only to find the plate was canted some 15 degrees in the vise after reaming the first hole… geez! I just didn’t see it beforehand!

Not a lot of room in there is there? You seem to pack it all in somehow and it looks like it grew there.

Greg, is there a reason your trigger pins are in the plate instead of the two raised positions that Marlin used?

Vall,
If you notice the sear and hammer are not the normal Ballard configuration (we use a coil spring under the sear rather than a .020" slot for a tiny flat spring).  We changed the sear in our striker design, everything fits a little different and I just continued making them this way.  They fit across all our designs.  There is a problem with my latest configuation of breech blocks, the plunger type - there's several things that would have needed changed and I didn't want to alter the program, it makes a mess further down the road for me.  So lowering the triggers was an easy process, at least to fit in this undersize breech block.  As I mentioned, we're doing a program for the triggers now and I'm leaving the holes out.  I'll work through this and get everything fitting a little better - maybe.  (another item - I made these triggers originally to fit a Lil' Sharps, and they fit the lower tang, no lumps.)
