Is a lube pump specific to a bullet shape?

Hoping to save myself a trial and error learning curve.

I have a lube pump, 32 cal.  It has a bullet in it, and I have the mold for that particular bullet.  My question is:  Is the lube pump specific to that bullet shape, and you need a new die for each bullet you want to lube, or does it work reasonably well with any bullet of the right diameter?

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I have Dell and Pope lube pumps and they work fine with any bullets that are the same diameter, and even .001" smaller still lube well.

But, yes, the bullet dies were made to perfectly fit one bullet. The die may work with other bullets but may put an excess of lube in some places or size down the bullet body in others. When Dell's pump and dies were being made you sent along the bullets you were going to use with it and received dies fitted to those bullets.

Looking at it closely, it appears to be made for this specific bullet, so I guess I should keep it together.  I'm trying to piece together what needs to stay together as one complete kit to go with the rifle, and what is extra or superfluous.  I have several molds, several breech seaters, extra stock, different buttplates, etc from a lifetime of experimenting by the previous owner.  Sorting it all out is a bit of a puzzle, since there were 3 similar rifles together, and all the parts are mixed.

The dies I made were- sort of! Cut for supplied bullets and lube ports aligned with the grooves. If another bullet of the same diameter or smaller (.001/2) has grooves that line up reasonably (within a half hole of the port) it would get lubed, but expect leakage at the nose/base as it won't seal properly. They often will leak if not seated fully or an alloy change is made, as the pressure applied is surprisingly high.

If it is a removable die you could make another die for your bullet or a different caliber.
