Stuck Bullet Mold

I recently picked up a mold that has a bullet casting stuck into the block. How does one remove without causing damage? It is really stuck.

If you just want it out, melt it with a torch or drill a hole into the base and insert a screwdriver and pry it out.  If you want to save the bullet don't do what I said.

I want the mold to.use without causing any damage to it. There must be some way I am missing. A torch would work but will probably leave lead in cavity which brings up another problem.

seems there is no other solution than just digging it out with a screwdriver or similar. I doubt, if you use a little caution that any damage will occur. sure look that mold over for burrs when you get the thing out.
you either want it enough to do that or you don't. I'd have had it punched out in a minute by lightly clamping the block in a vice and using a mallet and said screwdriver giving a semi-sideways whack to knock it free.

Use a blowgun on an air line to direct air at the contact between bullet and mold.  Should loosen it right up and blow it out.

I've had someone hold the mold handles open, then situate the block half with the bullet on my vise or anvil. Take a center punch and sit it in the middle of the bullet and smack it hard with a hammer. They pop right out, even when stuck good.

The only time I've ever had a bullet stick, is when there are burrs along the parting line (as Called flier says), they are caused by a dull cherry cutting it.

Look the mold over, with a 5x magnifier and I'm sure you find that.

Be very careful, I use a Exacto knife to de-burr them and a fine diamond flat file on the face of both side. Keep the file flat and you won't hurt the mold.

You must be new to casting, lead and molds! Just melt it out and move on. Just because you get a "new" mold does not mean it could use some work.

No, not new to casting. I have at least 40 years experience. I have never had this problem before and this is a mold I purchased cheap that someone else did this to. I'm just trying to figure out how to not damage blocks.

Hammer and thin screwdriver on flat end  with block held by viise with plastic jaws. Took two solid hits but came loose without any damage. Thanks all. I know how to fix a stuck mold now but hopefully there won't be another. Now I'm looking for reason it was stuck in first place.

Fluxing the mould and pouring 60/40 solder ought to do it. Don't!
