22 single shot

I started out hunting squirrel and rabbits with a Savage 72 Crackshot.
Since those days I have collected a 22lr Savage savage mkII fv-sr and a Savage 22lr Precission rifle for hiting targets but still hunt with the trusty old single shot.

my first SS was also a 72.I shot the heck out of it and ended up trading it for a Martini 12/15 .That's when the single shot madness started. I wish I had it back

The only .22 we had while growing up was a Stevens Model 53, a single shot bolt action. My Dad earned it by selling subscriptions to the old Grit magazine, way back in the depression years. His older brother got a Stevens 94C 16 gauge shotgun the same way.  Something like that nowadays would likely be considered an act of terrorism.
