Frank,

There was an attempt a a German match.  Last year it was suggested that the targets be moved to 100 yds so that morr shooters would participate.  Well, that backfired.  Only Pete and Tommy signed up for it.  Tommy decided to try a .2 rifle that he thought was sighted in.  It wasn't.  I was sitting at a bench close to Tommy but too far to the left to be much help.  Gary and Rhonda (the new range owner) were trying to get him on paper. As you know there is not much of a dirt berm at 100 and, bottom line, he didn't get on paper until the match time expired.  I think Pete was having issues as well and eventually declared it a 5 shot on paper match ad he won.  Pete can chime in on what happened at his end of the range.

Tommy always seems to find something fun and unusual for the shooters to experience at his Stars and Stripes Schuetzen Park and this year was no exception.  He set up a King target at 50 feet and provided the rifle and ammunition for the match.  Everyone took one shot with the same rifle and ammo provided - A Daisy rifle with caseless ammunition!  I'm not too sure that any of us had ever seen or even heard of such a thing.  It was a real hoot!

I do get lucky once in awhile! Smiley Smiley Smiley   The release of the compressed air creates enough heat to set off the propellant attached to the base of the bullet.  I think Tommy said they quit making them in 1968 due to gov't regs.

Regards,
Joe

thanks for the link with the info on these things. i sure can't recall seeing one anywhere. Blinders at gun shows?
I was delighted to read in his article about his intentions to test it out- including a part about aging ammo where he stated that he wondered if the ammo might last as long as .22 rimfires. Mention was made of those lasting upwards of a century.
Good news, that, since during an earlier ammo shortage I purchased numerous bricks of what was my favorite Federal load and I still have most of it. My fears over twenty-five year-old ammo are relieved Cool
and congratulatione to Mr. Feldman for mastering the beast so well. Smiley
