I looked it up. Nice rifle but holy cow 5,400 dollars? To each his own but if I am going to spend that kind of money it will go for an original rifle.

Actually it $4500 for the rifle seemed pretty reasonable to me. Though the stock shape and engraving aren’t exactly the way I would go, consider if you are not a BobW, a GT, or a JHM and others on here that can build a gen and have it turn out beautiful…

If someone GAVE you a DST Hepburn action in the white free and clear, you would still have

Shilen barrel $350
Thread chamber cut extractor $250
Buy knockout stock blank $400
Have George at Treebone carve ‘em $500
Checkering $400-450
Engraving $600
Color case and rust blue $500

So you are at $3000 and you don’t have a buttplate, you don’t have a metal fore end cap, you haven’t fitted or finished the stocks, you haven’t drilled and tapped barrel or cut dovetails.

All that and If the free action you have isn’t one of the very few rimfires known then you’re converting it….and it still isnt left handed.

Come to think of it you are right. I take it for granted as I am sure Gt and Bobw does. It's like oh well I will just make one. Most folks can't do that so if they want a rifle they have to buy it at whatever price and the builder or company has to make a living too. Still a lot of money to put in a rifle. Thanks for putting me in the same league as GT and Bobw. I aspire to be as good as they are some day...

Not being left handed I never thought about it but I cant think of a reason why any Hepburn couldnt be converted to left hand just by fitting a lefty lever from DZ. Drill a new hole in it for the set screw and viola.
