Our fallen heroes are honored in my thought and prayer every day, but on this our day of country-wide memorial, I take particular satisfaction in knowing that so many are doing the same as I am. God bless 'em all.

Some how I wish we could use another word other than "Happy" in connection with Memorial Day as it seems so out of place.

LRF is sure right about the 'happy' appellation here. May I suggest instead that we use something like; proudly respectful?
And, a sincere thankyou to all of you veterans who are still among us. We are blessed to have such as you.

agree.  Memorial day comes with NAMES of friends who will forever be 21.  Good memories of them though.

Thanks to those who served.

Uncle Rick made it back but didn't last long. Was quite the influence on a young boy in the early 70s.

Year #1 - HQ company 1st Brigade 25th Division Tay Ninh Vietnam 1969 - 1970 assigned to a liaison team to the provincial MACV unit with a couple of months on the Cambodian border.  I extended for a 2nd year with the MACV unit as an operations sergeant.
Lost a couple of friends over there.
