30:1 vs 40:1 alloy in .43-45 caliber rifles

I've shot through all of my 20:1 I mixed 4 years ago and have enough lead and tin to make another 5 years worth of alloy. The 20:1 worked well enough but I'd like to stretch my tin out since I got it at a good price.

Is there a significant difference between 30 or 40:1 alloy when it comes to leading? All of my rifles are military single shots that require alot of bump up & shooting to more or less 1400fps. Paper patch is just pure lead.

Paper patch or GG bullets, accuracy all depends on how much unsupported bullet there is. Leading can be due to many factors but accuracy, alloy and bullet slump all relate to one-another.

Soft bullets are not strong bullets and when the big red light comes on behind them, soft bullets want to slump, and often slump off center.

We use harder alloys to maintain the same bullet shape at the muzzle that went into the chamber and came out of the mold.
