On a related note, I had a discussion with a gunsmith at CGCA and mentioned the problems with the original Stevens. He said his solution was to solder a piece in the half cock notch on the hammer, which caused it to rotate the spur back further, giving it clearance for a Weber seater. "So simple it plumb evaded me"
