I have one in a drilling. It likes 160g Hornady RN bullets.

Factory ammo from S&B is readily available and relatively inexpensive. It uses a 131 gr bullet at a stated velocity of 2543 fps.
The brass is boxer primed and suitable for reloading, which avoids the reforming problem using the bigger 57 R length cartridges.
I did experience a problem with small primer pockets that had to be enlarged in order to seat Remington 9 1/2 LRP's.
I'm reloading the first box of brass with 123 gr lead bullets and Unique powder. QL estimates the velocity at 1500-1600 fps and the pressure at about 21,000 psi.
It's an accurate and fun cartridge to shoot.

Actually I ordered some of the S&B yesterday as it turned out I didn't have the brass I thought I did and that ammo is quite reasonable. After I shoot some of that ammo to get the brass and center the scope I will try the lead bullets from the molds that I have although I may start with a heavier one first and with LP primers as LR are getting scarce. Just went looking and the lighter of my 6.5 Lyman moulds has gone AWOL. It was 266455, a 127 grain Loverin GC, so I'll be starting with 266469 GC HP a 140 grain Loverin. The Loverin GCs have a long shank with many, many lube grooves designed to permit high velocity (for lead) loads. We'll see.
