Brown and Grizzly Bear attacks.

I saw online that an 81 year old hunter has gone on trial in France for killing a Brown bear that attacked him in the Pyrenees, he had fractures to both legs and an open artery. He was charged with killing an endangered species. The stock picture along with the article shows a Grizzly on a charge.
Also reading else where that Grizzlies are making a big come back with over a thousand estimated in Wyoming and the same amount in Montana.
A bit Butt clenching if your out there hunting and hear something close bye.

Good to hear about the bears doing well in Montana and Wyoming. I have always wanted to start a 'tree hugger' like foundation (of course asking for plenty of 'woke' govt grants with the usual NGO kick backs in political contributions) with its mean goal to restore the Bears (both griz and black) along with Timber wolves to their known range prior to the 16th century. I think it is only right. We need bears back in the bear state. Can't you envision magnificent Grizzly Bears wondering the shores of San Francisco Bay. Or packs of truly beautiful Timber Wolves hunting along the East coast say in the area and along the Hudson River. I would even start close to home, right here in Minneapolis in George Floyd Square. Why should Montana and Wyoming have all the beauty and fun? Oregon and Washington, the whole states, would be another great location.

More and more hikers, and other outdoor activities such as berry pickers are being surprise attacked by grizzlies.

I am pretty sure you will find lots of "tree huggers" willing to help you to introduce wildlife. I am also pretty sure that the bears and wolves will find those "tree huggers" to be tastey treats on their way to reintroduction.
YMMV

I spent my youth and middle years fishing the streams of Nevada and nearby California. Alone and peacefully entertained. Now, I'd prefer bears on the streams to the unwholesome hoards of California lawyers and CPAs that mob the streamside in packs. It seems they cannot exist unless attended by a group of others and the noise they live in down in the lower climes from whence they come. Yeah, dodging a bear now and then is better than the certainty of being assaulted by a crowd of 'companions'.

We had the Gray Wolf, introduced back here, about 2009, with tracking collars and a no kill law. Not long after, they started killing livestock.

Now, they are killing on a regular basis and Oregon has to pick up the tab. With the increase of meat prices, it's starting to cost this state, real money. So, I think Oregon will change there policy, in the not to distant future! It's all about the money! If it comes from the people, it's fine BUT, they don't want ANY of it coming from them!

They need to release them in the areas around Portland and Salem. Both the Gray Wolf and Grizzly's! I would support that Smiley

Sam, That's the beauty of my proposal, who could be against it? It has something for everyone. And even think it could turn a dyed in the wool anti Second Amendment person into the nearest gun store to pick up a Glock 20 for a little 15 rounds of 10mm, in the mag, 'Bear' medicine. Always effective when you are getting pulled out of your homeless shelter tent down in the 'tenderloin district' of San Fran, by the ankle and you can't miss. Were is your Lee-Speed in 303 British when you need it. Oh wrong continent, that was Tsavo and Lions. Well it would work on a pack of Timber wolves in downtown Minneapolis or Portland too.
I know I know, but they desire it the streals.
