Ruger #1 22LR

This was a project piece that I purchased from Glenn
aka SSShooter two plus years ago. Barreled action in the white with buttstock and forearm inletted and a Kepplinger set-trigger installed (all work was completed by Steve Durren).
I abandoned the buttock for a stock Ruger buttstock.
The finished product was a collaboration, with a friend
doing the final metal prep, final forearm shaping/finishing and checkering. C. Sharps did the case hardening and barrel blue.
I have not shot it yet as I am waiting for a MVA B5 5x scope to arrive and install.

I like how the color case hardening came out, it’s different from what we usually see.

Very interested in a range report. I still cannot believe Ruger never made these available.

If by "these" you mean the #1 actions (and not just a case colored version) years agao they did make 100 actions available to members of the ASSRA.
I don't know what the circumstances were, but I owned this gun built on one of the action.

I, like watchthewind, may be referring to Ruger making a No1 in 22 long rifle. I gave up wishing long ago, but the candle still burns!

Ruger missed the boat by not making a .22lr chambering.

Agreed. A foolish move on their part, IMO.

1976,
Nice looking build! Your pics are leading me astray...
There's a place you need to go in June that you can stretch this rifles legs and shoot with another that has a #1 configured the same, there will possibly be two of them by then...

Greg,
This is the Ruger we talked about at the Sioux Falls
Gun Show. Trent T. Finished this one up for me.
My MVA B5 5x scope should be here today.
