Here is a pic I came across on Face Book. Obviously the long rifle is a trapdoor but the question is what is the small rifle. I think it appears to be a #4 Remington RB. The photo date is 1908 of Ojibwe people in Wisconsin.

I’d guess that’s right on the #4, but I was more attracted to the beautiful bead work on their clothing. These folks sure look sad though.  Undecided

this is a nice photo with smiles all around. maybe they got the joke.  Roll Eyes or, most folk looked somber due to having to hold an expression long enough for the slow photography of the time. if ya hold a smile for long it looks strained, like when you are taking a ....well, you know.

The first group were probably involved in the carnival/circus scene hence the clothes and tourist wares.....
