I purchased a Hepburn rifle that was either built by the late Dave Crossno or at least built using one of his actions. It's showing serial number 22. It is currently sporting a .22 caliber 28 inch Douglas barrel with a 1-14 twist. From what I've been told the gun may have been originally a .40-65? If anyone previously owned this or knows anything about it I'd love to know more about its history.

Is this a .22 rimfire or a centerfire varmint rifle?

My guess is it would be a rim fire. There was a previous post on Hepburn rifles I started a while back and there was a picture of him and some of his builds. Quite a few Walkers were pictured. I tried to find my original post but can't. It is here somewhere...

JHM, if there was a pic of Dave with some of his rifles, I’d really like to see it.

It is here somewhere but I couldn't find it. I was building a Hepburn and asked for some input and the post snowballed and got many responses. I am not good at doing searches so maybe someone here can help. There were lots of pictures and several of the Walker rifles. Hope you can find it.
