I was fortunate to become the new owner of this 1885 Winchester “varmintized” by A.L. Hartung in Pomeroy Ohio in the 1940’s.  The rifle is chambered in my new favorite caliber of R2 Lovell.  When the rifle arrived at my FFL in late November, UPS had cracked the stock completely through at the wrist.  Several members in this forum gave me sound advice and I found Mike Zuba from Brookfield Stockworks in Chester County PA to repair the rifle.  His stock repair was flawless!  I wanted to share some pics of the old girl going through her paces at the range today.  She did not disappoint with 12.5 gr of Lil Gun and a 40 gr bowler BT!

Thanks guys!  Yes I cannot tell you how excited I was when I picked the rifle up from Mike Zuba!  You cannot even tell it was broken and he refinished the entire stock so it actually looks better than before
