WTB - Hens Teeth

I am in need of some newer, reloadable 43 Spanish or 43 Reformando Brass. 10 to 20 cases will do. Bought an Oviedo rolling block short rifle and I want to play with it. And yes, it is a Reformando chamber so I am wanting to fire form them to fit.
Can anyone spare to sell me some cases?

John

PS: And I just learned tonight that in Spanish, reformando means to reform. Never made the connection previously.  Roll Eyes

I've looked into that. I had a model 71 Winchester but sold off my brass after I sold the rifle. 348 itself is near the Hen's teeth level. But still hoping for the easy way out.

Track has it at $4 per case. But then hen’s teeth are expensive.

Track is on back order. Same with Buffalo Arms. I'm on the notify list at both. Will keep checking the local gun shows for brass and dies. They show up once in a blue moon.

43 Spanish and 43 Mauser are nearly identical the only real difference is the bore diameter and location of the shoulders.
Look up the two cases in Cartridges of the World.
348 can be made to use for either Spanish or Mauser but its not easy. The base of 348 cases just ahead of the rim is solid and can't just be resized it must be turned down on a lathe.

RockyMt comes to $8 per case! I'm on the notify list at Track of The Wolf and Buffalo Arms.
Can't bring myself to making them from 43 Mauser as it's another hens tooth and just seems counter productive. I've read where some have simply run a 348 reamer in the chamber to allow cases to be fire formed without turning down the base diameter. That is a possibility. I could give Bob Hoyt a call to see if he has a reamer. He's only a 45 drive. But I think I will just put it on a back burner for now, until some proper cases show up at less than mortgage prices.

Not sure if this will work but I use 300 Winchester mag brass or similar brass. I turn off the belt, anneal and use an O-ring as a rim and fire form. These work well in both 43 spanish and Mauser.  The only real issue is is the base is .516 verses .532 on the reformando cartridge.  So there going to be some cases swelling but it should work.
