MVA Unertl style mounts

I just got my new MVA 10x scope and I ordered this one with their newer Unertl repro mounts ( not the B5 ones ).  These are really nice mounts.  The only downside is that they use the Lyman crescent style blocks not posa which I'd greatly prefer.

They are super smooth and by default are clickless.  They include the parts to make them have clicks.  I thought I'd post this just because I haven't seen much about these newer mounts yet.  They are very good.

I have seen but not played with the MVA Unertl style mounts. To my eye the external finish isn't as nice as it maybe should or could be. Not having played with them I will take your word that they are smooth. For those that are used to either a tang sight or the usual mounts on MVA scopes, the Unertl style will not cause you any problems because they are threaded left hand. For those that are more used to the standard Unertl/lyman/Winchester mounts, things will be backward for you. 
I understand the decision to make the mounts this way, those that convert from their standard mounts are used to turning the screw one way to make things go up, this new mount turns the same way. Those that are not used to that will have a problem till they get used to it.

I just ordered a set of DZ to use on my mva for silhouette (and for offhand schutzen). I have high hopes!

You'll like the DZ mounts.  I've used them for silhouette and BPTR for quite a while.  They are my #1 pick for modern Unertl style mounts.

Bought one of the first DZ's maybe 20 years ago? they now make the screws for either lyman bases or Unertl Posi bases . I called him up a couple  years back and he sent me the posi screws.......

How do you like those universal mounts?  It seems like a nice idea to be able to use the same mounts for posa & Lyman.
