Mid Dec. at our OAC gun show I picked up a nice Remington Model 37 .22 Rangemaster target rifle made in May of 1938. It came with a 15x Lyman Super Targetspot and the seller wanted less for gun and scope than the scope cost! It was missing the magazine, or single shot adapter, and I figured no big deal.
I got it home and immediately got sticker shock when I found numerous magazines at $400-$495 each! And single shot adapters at $300-$325 each! Suddenly it wasn't such a super buy!
Did some searching around the internet and saw a reference to Steve Earle making replacement magazines and adapters! So took a look to see his prices. He was $275 for a magazine, and $104 for the adapter to single shot. Since I prefer it to be a single shot and I like saving money, I sent them an email to get one ordered.
Yesterday the adapter came and like other Steve Earle products it's nicer than what Remington made! All solid steel, and a perfect fit and function in my Model 37!

I have found all of Steve's work to be outstanding. I always look forward to browsing his table at Etna Green. I usually come away with something and have never been disappointed.

I've bought a couple of his schuetzen rifle adaptors to mount external scopes and I couldn't be more pleased with them. He does top-shelf work at a fair price with good turn around times.

Steve only sells one grade of products… outstanding.. Many, many moons ago when I was writing product reviews for our Journal I had the opportunity to review a couple of his earliest products and found them to be excellent.

Count me as another member of the Steve Earle fan club. I needed to replace the mounts on one of my Unertl 1 1/2 inch 20X scopes. I used Steve's set of mounts and they are the best set of external scope mounts I've ever used. Repeatable settings, smooth clicks, high quality workmanship.
If you need to replace an old set of scope mounts you can't go wrong with Steve's.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

His stuff is good for sure.  I also have a set of his new Unertl mounts and they are good, but quite different than the mounts on my Unertl, or my Lymans.  I wonder if yours are different?  The elevation scale on the rear mount is opposite to my Unertl as it reads zero when at the highest elevation, and 200 at the lowest.  It is super smooth and well built.  I am using it on my CPA .22LR barrel right now.

I saw those mounts listed on the Buffalo Arms site and thought I'd put them onto my DZ scope and move the DZ mounts to my new MVA long range scope.  They work very well.

And if you need a mainspring for a Ballard, the one Steve makes with the roller bearing is the finest ever made.
Buy at least one spare if you shoot Ballard's.

Could it really be THAT easy?

Yeah he makes a surprising variety of stuff.  I usually just think of his scope blocks, but he actually makes much more.  Every now and then I scroll through all of the stuff on his web site just to remind myself.

I've never tried one of Steve's roller tip Ballard springs, and just gotten regular springs for Ballards from him. Might have to try a roller tip some time just to see if they're better.

Everyone!  THANK YOU!  Gonna hit up Steve for a Roller Tip.  My Ballard has a VERY crisp but also VERY heavy trigger.  I do NOT want to mess with engagement as there is nothing wrong with it.  It is short, clean and super crisp.

This may be the thing I am needing!!!!

I've never had much luck making a difference in trigger pull feel by messing with mainsprings. It might have a very minor improvement, but don't expect huge improvements with a better mainspring.
