I see on the Gunbroker gun that the Remington marking on the barrel was partly removed when the dovetail for the rough 'n ready sight was cut, so I think maybe it was added later.
Does your rifle have a Remington stamp on the barrel anywhere?

Neither of my older Rolling Blocks have any type of stamping on the upper side of the barrel. They both have the rough and ready sight.

Yep, to shoot or not shoot. Which way to jump. If nobody else did makes you not want to; then having a fine rifle and not shoot it like it was made for seems a shame.
