Realized I just might have sight hoarding problem!

Saw Jerry Hartwig wants a tang sight, thought I would go look and see if I had it.  Looking at the stockpiled sights, I thought I must might have a slight hoarding problem when it comes to sights.

Brought them up and am going to lay them out on the table and sort and decide what I can use, and dispose of the rest.

It might look worse because I'm going through a transition.  I used to have all Axtel long range sharps style, along with a few MVA sharps style.  Then, as I had harder time seeing, started going to Soule.  Got a few MVA, few Baldwins, decided I liked MVA better.  So, I've been planning to change all of them out to MVA.  I'm part way through that process.  As I've replaced a sight with MVA, it's just gone into this stack in a cabinet.

There's probably 15 to 20 sights in that stack, and only a few are MVA.  The good thing is that I'll sell them all off, and have enough funds to just buy all MVA and be done with it!

Off to sort them out now!

I don't see a hording problem.  I see a shortage of rifles that need sights!

They're just not shown.

I found the sight that Jerry was wanting, identified 10 more of the sights that I'm going to dispose of, and 3 more that I could use, but they're not exactly what I want.  And, 4 more that are MVA's (what I want, but not necessarily the model I usually use).

If I don't get them onto rifles in the near future, they all ought to go.

Be sure and post them here first! I don't think if priced right they will last long. I could use a couple myself...

If that's hoarding I'm in big trouble Dave! I have an old briefcase I store most of my better sights in, and I can barely close it!

You have the terminology wrong. You are a collector, not a hoarder. Just like we are shooting enthusiasts, not gun nuts. Wording matters.  Wink

Dave,
If you would just dispose of your high wall parts you would have more room for sights.  Just sayin’

This kind of junk, Jack?  I might get there.  Sold two high walls and a low wall off this past month or so, and will put another one up for sale as soon as I have time to do pictures.  But, those were taking up more space than the parts do.

You can't have too many sights, rifles, shotguns or pistols, nor can you have enough. That's just a basic fact of life.

My kind of stuff Dave, My kind of stuff.  Can't see open sights anymore worth a darn so the more high wall stuff I can get the better.
