25/35Imp sending a 100gr. sierra @ 2900. Dropped like a cement statue. 170# dressed. Took him in to the local buck pool in my 1926 TT…..a 35 mile round trip. Got more thumbs up than ever. I was in a line of traffic stopped by a flagman and he turned the sign to “STOP” when I got up to him. The whole construction crew on the road came over to congratulate me. It was a fun morning.

That's a nice one. All these hunting posts are having me chomping at the bit. gotta wait til after thanksgiving for the season here in Pa. But there should be a new moon by then, which I prefer for still hunting, as they tend to move around more during the daylight hours.

Nice buck and even nicer wheels!  I toyed with having my Stevens 44 1/2 rebarreled to 25/35 Improved then decided on staying with the standard case.  I have a 28" #1 barrel so my velocity is pretty good as well and my hunting bullet of choice has been 100 grain Nosler Partitions.  The old calibers in single shot rifles allowing pointed bullets kill like a bolt of lightning as you have shown.  I did take one mule deer with the 117 grain flat point and though it only move 10 yards or so I had to give it another.  That is the only time it has taken me two shots for either a mule deer or antelope.  Thanks for sharing!  Tom

Tom, what powder gives you best results? I have same caliber in a CPA for hunting also.
