1878 Sharps BRC Borchardt Rifle in 32-40 $3,750

BRC Borchardt Rifle 32-40, 26" #3 octagon to round BRC barrel. $3,750.00 or OBO plus shipping and insurance. Go to brcrifles.com for more information. Rifle was test fired while in white but is unfired since bluing and finishing in BRC shop. Rifle is new. This BRC Borchardt is a single trigger with a competition BRC trigger job, as low as 8 oz, that makes this Borchardt ready for all round shooting or for offhand or bench rest top competition. See brcrifles.com for more information on BRC Trigger Job. The upper tang of the receiver is machined for a tang sight. All that is missing is the tang sight staff. Modern scoped sight base is included with rifle as pictured. Borchardt steel checkered butt plate is on stock as pictured. The two Hoch tapered bullet molds that cast excellent Schuetzen bullets  One is 200gr. nose pour and the other is a spitzer 205gr base pour. The Bausch and Lomb 6X24 target model was used for testing the rifle for accuracy as pictured. The B&L scope pictured is of the highest quality. The sales price of $3,750.00 does not include the molds and scope. I would sell the Hoch molds and scope to buyer at fair price if so desired. The one pictured below is of spare Borchardt parts that come with rifle. You would have an extra extractor if you wanted to make this rifle into a two barrel set. You will see spare firing pin, extractor, lever pin and tang flat spring and tang base screw. Any questions just ask. (575) 313-2665.  I would consider taking a, original action, Hi Wall rifle in partial trade.
Thanks for looking
Ken

Beautiful Rifle.

Am I correct that this rifle does not meet the BPCR competition rules..?

TIA

RJ,
I am not familiar with BPCR rules. I am sure there are others here who are. Good to hear you like the rifle.

Ken,

I believe there is a requirement for an exposed hammer as well as other period correct features.

Nice work, really like the 32-40 cartridge.

That's a very fine looking Borchardt,  Ken
Someone is surely missing the boat here.

I actually copied a picture of the tang piece on this rifle for my Rodney Storie build. I had called BRC about ordering one but they didn't have any in stock. You have a beautiful rifle there. Wish mine had turned out as nice...

Hello Farrell,
My last count of BRC Borchardts action three years ago there were only 12 actions left. I matched blocks to actions, and as I remember Al was short a few blocks. Blocks are a pain to machine that's why they cost $438.00. I doubt if there are many actions left for sale. When I was finishing my BRC Borchardt rifle in the shop in 2022 Clay was working on a few customers orders for BRC Borchardts. Due to how difficult the Borchardt fully machined action is to produce I doubt you will see any more period. I am a bit surprised my BRC Borchardt has not sold. I did two runs on BRC Borchardts for Al. The picture below is the second run of blocks and receivers. Al said he was going to price the actions at $2,250.00 in the white and I suggested a price of $2,500.00 due to the actions being a pain in the ass to machine. Excellent actions once they're produced. I don't know what BRC gets for them now. Thanks for your post Farrell.
