Unfortunately with my vision problems in my right eye, that's pretty much how crosshairs look to me in a good scope.

With .0015 crosshair wire being considered fairly coarse, this wire is .015, a hundred times thicker.  Luckily it doesn't appear that there is any glue in the threaded holes.  It is a bit thinner than a standard staple shown for comparison.

Bob Siepp resounded that he does not have screws and that he engraves grooves and glues the wire in place.  I search through my smallest screws and managed to only find one small enough but not the right pitch.  I am going to just glue the wires using the holes for alignment.

I ended up inserting the tip of plastic floss picks which were a nice fit into the holes.  That allowed me to use them as posts to use in positioning the wires like you would use a screw shank.  Some super glue and I now have some .008' crosshairs.  I figure the posts would also prevent any glue from making it into the threads so some future owner could have the crosshairs replaced properly assuming they could source some screws.

Anyone know the size and pitch of these screws?

It would be nice to know what size.

Here is the scope.  There was a yellow filter on the back but no front lens cap.  It turns out it takes a standard 52mm camera lens cap.  I have a clip on but ordered a screw on one from eBay for $13.

Jack,
I have a 30 Unertl with the super fine crosshairs and dot. As you say, they disappear on a black target. They do show good on the scheutzen red targets.

Bill,

I think I will dedicate this 10x scope to my 32-20 low wall.  I hope my eyesight doesn't deteriorate or I will have to add those wires I took off the Unertl.
