In a previous post I mentioned a re- and decapper made by David Arawinko.  I believed then that his design had been inspired by Schoyen or Peterson, but Vall disabused me of that notion!
I still haven’t been able to shrink my digital image to post it yet, but the body is made of brass with a finger loop, while the lever is a white metal, perhaps stainless.  The unit is designed to take standard RCBS shell holders.
Does this ring any bells with anyone?  Is Mr Arawinko still making them?  IIRC, about the same time he was also making a replacement block (a la Hubalek) to speed lock a Ballard.  He was quite the craftsman.

As far as I know, David is not doing anything for sale now. Years ago, I cast a batch of decappers that you’re talking about. He also made some Pope style scope mounts. At one time I think he had popes Rifleing machine also.

When I last talked with him on the phone (PM me for it) he still had Pope’s machine and was more than happy to talk about it to a novice like me. I didn’t ask if he still had anything for sale.

Thanks, KK.  I sent him an e-mail a day or two ago, but haven’t heard back yet.  He’s a super talented machinist!

One of Dave's "Pope" barrels is fitted to a Stevens 44 1/2 that I have. It's 30" long, .32-40, .323 groove diameter, left hand gain twist, No.4 weight, 1/3 octagon 2/3 round. That barrel is a very nice piece of Dave Arawinko's work.
Using the same bullet profile Pope used for many of his molds, I designed a bullet that properly fits this particular barrel. Rifling twist at muzzle is about 1:16 so I kept bullet weight to 180gr (nominal), cast 1:20 (tin:lead).
Due to other ongoing projects and facts-of-life, I haven't had a chance to work up really good load(s) for it yet. So far only smokeless but will get around to duplex loads eventually.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

Back when I was up to my ears in things Farrow, Dave and I corresponded.  He has Farrow action #93 in a cigar box.  It is a .22 rimfire.
