I just got off the phone w/ the Auction House. Lot 109 is a Pope #526. Lot 139 has a loading rod #526.
Lot 141 has 4 Orphan false muzzles 3 W/starters.

I have no idea what the auction house is trying to say when their description states that Pope #526 is mentioned on page 172 of the 2 volume Pope books? Is this the Stevens-Pope books, or what? I have the Hartford Pope 2 volume set and there is no page 172 in volume 2 and volume 1 page 172 doesn't mention anything?

Vall, I can’t get to my books right now, but the guns description reads Tom’s Stevens-Pope 1901-1913, Volume 2, not 2 volume set.  I think these are the 3 volume green set.  Like I said, I can’t get to mine or I’d look, maybe someone else can.

The King and Stillman rifles will/should go for high$$$ The Schoyen King rifle was used to break a Pope 100 shot record that still stands I believe. A large number of very desirable guns.

I wanted to see what the book said about barrel 526, so dug my books out.

This barrel has been around!

Claude Roderick was responsible for a lot of Pope barrels being refitted to other actions. Or finding Pope barrels and fitting them to actions he had.
There are numerous firearms Roderick bought as one firearm, and later reported to be a different brand of single shot when Roderick sold them. He seemed to like to build up old single shots using famous makers barrels.
