I got this from a friend back east:

I am helping with a friend's shop closing. We have a Custom Thompson/Center Contender Shotshell barrel, with ventilated rib with a .290 smooth bore and threaded for screw in chokes. My friend said he made it for a customer that used to go to Germany for "Tavern Shoots". My understanding is that the tavern had a hallway with small trap machines that threw birds and the customers would shoot them with these small shotguns. Can you provide any information?

Has anyone heard of this sport?
