Scope/Not Scope a Fritz Langenhan SS Falling Block

I have a Fritz Langenhan single shot falling block .22 (sorry no picture), that I'm debating whether to scope or not.  It's a cute rifle and I'm wondering if I'd be better off selling/trading it for a scoped low wall.  Does anyone make mounts that fit the rear sight barrel dovetail of these old german rifles?  If so, I wouldn't ruin the value by installing scope blocks.

All thoughts/comments welcome.  Thanks.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I used some Millet scope mounts on my Aydt rifle that had screws and clamps on each side that allowed the rings to clamp the Aydt rail. Worked great and gave some adjustment in the bases for windage if needed.
Rifle has been long gone now, so can't give you a part number. Have to check out Millet rings and see what their measurements are.

Steve Earle makes a base that attaches to German rifles. It allows you to mount a scope. Check his website.

Cheap solution, measure the dove tail, if it is 16mm (most are), buy a set of CZ527 16mm aluminum  Picatinny rings (29.99 from Midway) file off the small projection on the bottom, clamp to the dovetail. Since it is a 22 there should be no problem with movement caused by recoil. I have this on a 9.3x53 Swiss Martini and have had no problems. This way you don’t alter an antique rifle.

The Steve Earle solution does not alter the rifle and is somewhat more expensive than the CZ solution, and somewhat cumbersome. I too have used the CZ's and found them very satisfactory with the steps mentioned by yamoon. I believe that Warne and others have rings that with slight modification, as mentioned, will work well and look well.

I call the riflemy ugly duckling, so was looking for the least expensive rings, the scope is a Leupold LER 2.5 power.
