Its all to do with back door gun control.
I wanted some 218 Bee brass from the States but not allowed to export.

Was looking for the reason for the import issue and ran across this elsewhere......

We are planning to import Bertram Brass in the near future.

Let us know if there are any calibers you're on the hunt for - Bertram has quite the list to choose from.

We sell a lot of hard to find brass and components, especially dangerous game and metric calibers (as well as some of the best deals on bulk handgun reloading components).

(For those who might not know, Betram Bullet Co and Betram USA have ended their business relationship.)

Ballards may be weaker,

I think that August post on the site was prior to Bertram posting their decision to no longer import brass to the USA. So not sure it's relevant since Bertram made the announcement after that post.

Are you sure?

Yes. I spoke to Bruce (Bertram). Bertram USA is not owned by Bruce-- He owns Bertram Bullet Co in Australia. Bertram USA is the name of the former US Importer.

I've been told that the problem is/was getting a permit from the Australian gov't to export anything having to do with firearms.

Thanks for reaching out. We do plan to eventually import it, but we’re currently focused on a few other acquisitions.

I’ll post more information regarding Bertram in the future.
