After buying a beautifully pack-hardened 44 1/2 frame, I decided to treat myself to some nice wood. I picked a pc from CPA and had them profile, inlet and sand the stock. It is CPA’s Benchrest stock for the 44 1/2. Here it is after (9) coats of TruOil. Final coat lightly buffed with 0000 steel wool and oiled with RustPrufe. I couldn't be happier!

Here is one of (2) 1.6” (10) shot 200yd targets shot this morning with the new stock. 32/35 Stevens. Zero wind and bright sun on the targets. A nice way to start the day.

As time allows, I am building a 12’x12’ guest cabin. Construction technique will mimic the dual dovetail sauna I built 8 years ago…..entirely with hand tools. I hand peeled those (81) red pine logs 2 years ago. Apparently, the older I get, the crabbier I get. Cant stand the snoring during the week of deer camp with (4) friends in the cabin!

Thanx!
Thats my 3-season daily driver. I put 2800 miles on it last year….almost 600 so far this year. Most of that being ice cream runs since I have no freezer.
It’s a ‘26 TT, which meant Ton Truck It puts a perma-grin on the local log truck driver's faces. I go out looking at some of the local cuts and it must shock them to see this coming down the two-track.

It's a beautiful butt stock and very nice to see the new lever and DST, finally installed on it
Have you tried the 30 American cases on it yet?

I have a nice 30x STS that I will put on to compete with. I like doing development work with the Weaver T36 and its 1/8moa target dot. Development work, includes bench technique for me.

Frank,
Why do I have kind of a sick feeling that you sent a couple 30 American cases with the mold? Did you? If so, I cant find them! I do have ONE original 32/35 UMC case which ironically uses a small rifle primer. Anyone know what the S H means on the headstamp? This shell has a .515” diameter rim.

It means "Solid Head" as opposed to the old folded balloon cases.

Mike, It's my recollection that I sent at least four, 32/35 formed from 30 American, with the rifle and BSer, as well as at least 5 formed from Federal 30/30. I sent the mold separately, because I forgot it when I sent the rifle but, maybe I did send them with it but, one way or another, you should have at least 4, 30 American cases, somewhere.
Do you have the Fed 30/30 cases? They all the cases were sent together.

Frank,
I found the FC 30/30 large primer shells. I must have set the 30 Americans aside somewhere. Ill keep looking.
