Hello everyone, 
I will be in Germany in October and hoping someone here can give me some information about things to do. 
I have been to the 600 year old range in Munich where the Schutzenlisl artwork is, but we got there after hours and the range was close. Fortunately, someone let us in to see the Schuetzenlisl. Does anyone know if I would be able to rent an air rifle or rimfire rifle to shoot there?

We will be travelling form Rotenburg am Tauber to Freiburg, and it looks like Oberndorf in more or less on the way. I love the Mauser 98 and would like to stop there if there is anything there to see pertaining to the old Mauser factory. I know there is a museum there which has some Mauser items but I dont know much about it. If anyone has any knowledge about what is available to see in Oberndorf I would appreciate any advice you can give.

I also started a thread here last month about a visit to the museum.

This past weekend my wife and I decided to do a little reconnaissance of the route to the fortress Hohenzollern in preparation for visitors coming at the end of the month. Since my wife had never been there we decided to take the tour. The climb up at Hohenzollern is very steep and 2 PM in bright sun is not the best time, better to take the bus next time. Anyway, it has been 15-20 years since I was last there and now it is self-guided using an app. Thought I remembered some firearms but this was the only powder burner I saw. This weekend we will go to the Fortress at Lichtenstein. It is actually very close to Hohenzollern and the drive between home and the two is very scenic. When we take the visitors we will do both in one day.

Joe, you should also consider the German Schützenmuseum in Schloss Callenberg in Coburg. I was there several years ago.
