Does anyone know what’s going on @ Green Mtn Barrels?  A lot of their profiled barrels are listed as out of stock, and when you go to “Contact Us” the screen says in big red letters words to the effect of “Don’t ask us when out of stock products will be back... we don’t know!”  Are they just busy with military contracts or???

It has been that way for quite a while. Don't think they ever recovered from covid days. If they have maybe they should tell folks...

I'm not a big fan of GM bbl, though I had one on a muzzle loader.

If the government wants to make a shortage, all they have to do, is over whelm a industry with orders,I don't think it's covid, this far out.

If we change the regime, I think we'll get a lot of or stuff and prices back.

I agree. Guess we will see in a few months. I am 65 and have never been concerned as much as I am for this one...

TDS?

You'll never get a cent of SS, it will all go (past and future) to feed, house, school and med treatment for the illegal aliens!

Yes, TDS!

If your rifle is not in 7.62 and you can't hit what you are aiming at with de-linked machinegun ammo you are a pretender.

Well lets get back to GM barrels.
As mentioned they've remained behind on orders since covid crap. I doubt orders stopped during the pandemic, and thus they're still trying to catch up.
I own 4 rifles with GM barrels in .40 and .45 caliber and all shoot extremely well. I wanted one of their heavy 1.27" full round 27" ..22RF barrels that showed as "out of stock" and "No backorders", but I contacted them and asked if they would notify me when they made more. They said they would gladly add me to a notify list and send me an email when they had some made up. The price on that barrel is a whopping $122., plus shipping!
So I'm still fine with GM, and what they provide.

Vall,
I thought briefly of using their “Small Lever Action” barrel designed for 32-20 in my current Ruger #3 endeavor, but it showed “Out of Stock” and the profile wasn’t quite what I wanted, so I ended up moving on.  Huh

Their selection for some cartridges is a bit limited. But for larger BP era cartridges I like their 35" heavy 4.5 weight barrels in full octagon, or full round.
I've been wanting to reline or rebarrel my Ballard 3F Fine Gallery for sometime, and finally decided to just set the original barrel and forearm aside, and put a heavy full round barrel and make a new forearm for it. Now it's just the wait until I get notified of them being back in stock.

My 32-40 high wall has a 14 twist GM barrel.  It has shot a couple of 250s and 249s and managed a 248 last Monday morning.  Just don't look down the barrel with a bore scope.

Just curious Jack, what does it look like in there?  A while ago there was a guy complaining about big defects in the rifling of a couple of 38 cal GM barrels.  After reading his post I bought a cheap Teslong bore scope and my rifle's 38 cal GM barrel has a big defect in it too just like his pictures.  It looks like a big depression that cuts across two grooves and a land.

Chris.

I just ordered a honed air gauged 12 ROT #3.5 35" .38 barrel from then and it was delivered in 9 days. Bore scoped it and no issues. Good sharp edges smooth bore.
I hope it shoots as good as it looks.
