I think I've seen this shield before. Maybe it belongs to a Schuetzen Verein. Any help would be appreciated.

An interesting spot for it on the cheekpiece where sweat, etc. should have discolored and corroded it, or at least it would have been an annoyance (to me).

There's at least one other Schuetzen medal like the one in my stock out there. A friend sent me these pictures.

My first thought from the original picture was "American". I thought that because of what you could see of the flag on the left hand side in the background, looks like stars to me.
  

If your rifle is not in 7.62 and you can't hit what you are aiming at with de-linked machinegun ammo you are a pretender.
