Königsschießen auf meinen Verein

I just got the notification that my SV (SchützenVerein) will be having the annual Konig Schiessen in June. I am new to the Verein so I sent an email to a fellow member asking for paerticulars and while waiting for an answer got all excited and installed the Crosno insert in my Shiloh Business 45. Just before heading to the range Thursday evening I got a response. I was correct in assuming the event would be with the KK (Kleinkaliber (22LR)) but I would not be allowed to use my rifle. Everyone must shoot a club gun, 5 rounds, and it is open to the public, not just members.

My response back was: Why have a Konig Schiessen? We should just do a lottery.

Am I wrong?

For Father's day we had a good event. A couple of the members showed up with their older Unimogs. The 414 is a vintage 1957 and the other something from the late 1970's.

Maybe if I quit buying guns for a bit I can get myself and old Unimog Grin

Every match of any sort has rules to play by. One needs to either play by the rules, or set up their own matches to whatever rules they want to play by and see who also wants to participate.
When I wanted to join the long range BPCR matches at our club I was told I could shoot my old single shots at their matches, but my scores wouldn't count if I did so using smokeless powder. I sure wasn't going to ask them to change the rules just for me, so I took on the task of trying to learn to load BP for accurate ammo. It's been 2.5 yrs. and I'm closer than I was at the beginning, but still tweaking to get loads as good as my loads with smokeless in my old guns.
If you want to play you have to agree to existing rules.

October 14-20. Land in Munich, want to shoot at the 
Koniglich Hauptschutzengesellschaft Munchen , then a trip Nurmburg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bertchesgaden, Freiburg then Frankfurt to fly home.

I thought Freiburg was in the Schwartzwald. We have no family in Germany, my daughter and I will simply be sightseeing.

That’s a lot of geography to cover in six days (or less)!
You’ll only get the smallest of impressions/appreciation for each stop. But October is a good time to do it.

Don’t want to hijack this thread but I will respond to gewehrfreund:
Yes it is a lot of ground to cover but it will be my fifth visit to Munich, my third to Rothenburg and my second to Nuremberg and Berchtesgaden
It will be my daughter’s second visit to Germany and she is in charge of the itinerary 
Every time I visit Germany I try to see different things and places but never get tired of the Altstadt in Munich or Neuschwanstein use
Looking forward to returning to the HSG rifle range
The first time it was too late to rent a rifle but we did get to see the banquet hall and the original Schuetzenlisl by Kaulbach
Looking forward to the trip!
