PAC-NOR Barrels

I recently acquired a CPA Stevens 44-1/2 with barrels made by PAC-NOR.  Not that I'm an expert on very much, but that name of a barrel maker is new to me.
Anyone here have experience with them?

Very good barrels, button rifled.  They are hand lapped, some of the smoothest barrels inside.

They had a devastating fire that destroyed their entire facility a few years ago, and haven't fully recovered from that, but are still in business.

A good solid product that puts them in the top barrel makers, maybe not the best, but not the most expensive, either.  I've had very good service when I've special ordered barrels from them.

Great barrels, hand-lapped and tapered. As noted, they are recovering from a fire.

I do not currently shoot one but have in the past with great accuracy, set a CBA National Record in Long Range Handgun.

I have two of them.  One 5.56 and the other is a 6.5 REM Mag they chambered and installed for me.  Both are tack drivers, great folks to deal with.

Yes, they are tapered. I have one that was installed as a liner in a Hepburn, .40/70 SS.  The liner was put in backwards.  Won't shoot for beans.  The lesson was slug first, pay later.

A PAC-NOR barrel on my 70-150-900. Not many 70 cal barrels out there! Shoots accurately although the cartridge is a bit much! Winchester gave up on the idea! Wimps.

I'm intrigued that your martini would feed that.  I bought a large frame martini once and tried to make a .62-140 on it, which is based on 20 ga, not 12 ga.  I made a mockup barrel stub, and couldn't get the cartridge to make the corner to load.  Is your start a Greener 12/14 ga?  Mine I think was a 303.

With a Martini, the answer usually is 'using a bottleneck case' - they won't work well with long straight case, but BN cases work a treat.
If you think of chamber and loading geometry, it makes sense.

I think mine was a 303. It has the small checkered section on top of the receiver where the thumb of the right hand rests. I did open up the barrel threads a bit to a larger diameter small thread which gave more room for the chamber.  I had to polish a very small amount of the top of the breech block. The bottle neck helps!

Why not straight cases?
I currently have a 35-40 Martini and have had 38-55 and 45-70 and saw no problems on the large action. My 41 Swiss on a smaller frame is a challenge to noodle into the chamber.

I said 'long straight cases', not 'straight cases'. Yes, they also work fine with the .22LR
