S&B brass

A friend of mine just jumped through the German hoops to get a license for reloading. It is required to be allowed to buy powder. He bought some equipment to load 45-70 and 7mm Mauser. He called tonight and asked if he could borrow a shell holder for the 7mm. I took one over and compared what he had to a couple I have. His was marked "Lyman" and "2X". I have never seen the "2X" mark but the two are noticeably different. Overall dimensions are the same but the surface that supports the case head is cut much lower than either of mine (at least one is an RCBS). The 7mm S&B case will not seat into his shell holder but it does with both of mine. Looks like the S&B extractor groove is much smaller than that on a Remington case. The top of the shell holder can be ground to gain the clearance but it seems odd that the cases are not SAAMI....

If your rifle is not in 7.62 and you can't hit what you are aiming at with de-linked machinegun ammo you are a pretender.

They shouldn’t be SAAMI.  Europe uses C.I.P.

I have to use a #2 RCBS shell holder for European 7x57mm brass and a #3 RCBS shell holder for US manufactured brass.
