I found this a a gun show this morning.  Surely I can find some use for it if I only knew what it was.  Any ideas?

Thanks

Or, more likely, to affix to a car window glass, to scope stuff out the car window.

The car window idea seems to be the most plausible.  The jaws are lines with a rubber like pad with deep grooves and only opens about 3/4" wide.  There is also a 1/4-20 threaded hold in the middle bottom.

Thanks

Searching the web for Freeland window mount found a couple of other photos of mounts like mine.  Here it is on my truck window.

Very nice.  It would also probably fit in some range boxes to hold a scope or perhaps some powder measures.  I’d gladly buy one!

I think I have one in my "plunder" somewhere.   I'll keep an eye out for it.   They were great for prairie-dog shooting on the plains.
