FS Rem Hepburn 32/40 Ballard

I have the opportunity to buy a 1964 Corvette so I am going to sell some guns to lessen the pain.  Going to start with some guns that I have no loading development into.

I have a restored Remington Hepburn 32/40 Ballard with a nice shootable bore and special order barrel with no rear dovetail. This gun has a fantastic buttstock which also has more drop than is typical for a sporting rifle. A few pics below. Please PM a phone number or email for more or if you wish to speak over telephone.

$2500 plus shipping. Thank you.

Hate to say this but I think you will do much better at one of those specialty gun auction sites than here.

You have a collectors item worth in my opinion, much more than your asking.
A broader reach will catch more eyes.

This gun is still for sale. Jeff and I had a talk by phone and decided not to do the transaction. He is a gentleman and I am confident he would have been happy with rifle.

I will give this another chance here on the forum.

$2500 plus shipping. Thank you

I'm certainly interested but could you tell me a little more about the nice shootable bore? is there pitting; in front of the chamber from mercuric primers, light or heavy pitting the length of the barrel? Are the lands square? Is the bore shiny or dark? Who did the restoration, if you know?

In front of the chamber appears fine. Lands show uniform edges. There is light/moderate pitting here and there for a good share of the barrel. What does ‘light to moderate’ mean?

I purchased the rifle along with another Hepburn at the same time. I am not much on restored rifles but I thought the price was very fair and that this one would certainly shoot well enough to hunt deer with. That was my plan. I started working with the other one first and have no time into this one.

I do not have any history on the rifle as to who did the work.
