F/S Stevens Model 47 Action (Reduced Again)

I am selling a Stevens Model 47 Action. It is a single trigger action. It has an incorrect trigger spring and it is missing the hammer spring but other than that the action is in great condition. I am selling the action for $650 plus shipping.

Centerfire or rimfire breech block? 7 o'clock extractor I'm assuming?

It is a centerfire. It does have a 7 O'clock extractor.

Is this 47 a 44 or 44 1/2 action? I still learning about single shots so please be patient with me.

I have a decent original 7 o'clock Stevens barrel in 32-40, with an excellent bore I'd sell to the person who buys this action, if they're interested. It most likely would need to be fitted, as it won't likely index.

Very nice looking Stevens 44 action and that should make a nice rifle.  Nice that it is  alugged action.

Not up on these actions, so sorry for the question, but...what centerfire calibers can the 44 action handle?  Thanks.

Without the hammer lug, up to .32-20.  Not .25-20 WCF if there's any chance that factory ammo might get into it.  .44-40 and .38-40 with blackpowder pressures.  .38 Special low pressure target loads only.   .32 S&W long good, not .32 Magnum.  All 3 of the Stevens .25 caliber centerfires.  .28-30-120, .32 Ideal

With the lug, .32-40 target loads, not smokeless hunting loads.    Maybe .22 Hornet.  .38 Special but still not +P.

Thanks, looks like the 32-40 black powder loads would be best for this.

The lugged hammer was supplied only for .32-40 and .38-55 chamberings, so this action was one or the other when new.  Rational smokeless loads for plain base cast bullets will be fine.
