I just got a Ballard in .22lr with a 30 inch barrel and a cast action.I was told it was made by a maker named Stege. I've never heard of him. Anyone have any knowledge of him or his work?

Ballards may be weaker,

Steve is a pretty common name. Not enough to really help determine a maker. Which of the names you've mentioned is correct? Steve, Stege, or Steger?

F***ing auto correct. The makers name I was given was Stege. Hope that clarifies. No markings on the rifle.
