I had some sort of cake pan that "oilcaned" after I poured the lube in that did about that. Never used it again for that purpose. I do feel your pain.

Had the same sort of problem Jeff. and I now use one of those silicone baking pans.
Of course, bumping the pan is a whole different animal.

Indeed, and the only thing worse is to actually knock the pan on the floor.......

gigantic pain in the rear but...only once.
i drilled .330 diameter holes in a 1/8" thick piece of aluminum, cut it to fit my pan, put 4 screws in the plate to lift it above the lube rings, cut a square in the middle to pour lube in and viola. 150 bullets lubed at a time. adjustable for different bullets length, all 32 cal. just an idea

I don’t pour my lube. I take old cake and insert bullets in old holes and heat over my hot plate and double boiler pie pans. Heat until I see lube seeping around bullets and then turn it off. Seldom have a tipped bullet. I also have a drift punch to make extra holes if need be in cold lube cake.

How do you get the bullets to float to the top like that? Voids?

He must be using the antigravity lube. It really helps with long range shooting.
The worst thing I did was not paying attention to the water level in my pan/pyrex measuring cup double boiler and adding cold water when the water all boiled out. The measuring cup shattered leaving a water/lube/glass shard mess.

I gave up on pan lubing when wanting to shoot "as cast" bullets. I buy a proper sizing die to the lubri-sizer. I seemed to always have a lot of wasted lube trying to do it in a pan.

I've been pan lubing forever. The only lube I lose is what stays in the lube grooves. When I use a lubrisizer I lose a lot of lube.

Never loose lube in my lubersizer.
Replace the O rings so you always have a tight fit and don't overturn the screw and apply too much pressure.
But we also put a spring under the rod at the bottom to push the plunger back up into the die between uses which prevents leakage down the bottom between uses. A Ron Smith trick.
Just a few ways to prevent leakage in lubersizers.
