I can’t wait to see what it looks like on my black pitted high wall action with a short 32 Miller barrel and a $100 Tasso 20x scope.  It could break the ugly meter.

I didn't see any problem with it. I was the underbidder.

Depends Jack if it is a US made Tasco or a Chinese made Tasco?
There are different criteria for evaluation and whether the comparison is made to a hand made Pakistan firearm made with cold chisels and files from old bicycle parts.

The scope is marked "made in Japan".  It is in new condition.  I couldn't pass it up for $100 at a local gun show.  I was going to be my 50-yard RKS bench scope on my BSA MKII, but that match is not scheduled at Spokane this year.  I will be either using my heavy barrelled Steves Pope low wall or my not #4 weight barrelled relined Ballard for the 100 yd matches. A shootout between the two is scheduled.

The stock arrived today (finally).  It needs some serious reworking before it will be functional.  Unfortunately my widow's peak butt steel buttplate does not fit but I think I can make a plastic CPA one work.  The through bolt holder needs to be replaced as far as I am concerned.  More on that in a later thread.  Here it is on my ugly 32 Miller high wall. (without the through bolt) It will not be on this rifle long term, but for now they deserver each other.

Behold the BUG....  Butt Ugly Gun!!

look that chunk of wood over carefully. there may be some decent pistol grips and a few custom fountain pens in there. it's not just for roastin' marshmallows, ya know?

I still think it is upside down.

The square piece that the 1/4" through bolt attaches to apparently was designed to be attached to the lower tang as there is a buggered threaded rod protruding from the bottom.  You would have to remove the lower tang to remove the stock with that arrangement.  I have another rifle where the stock upper tang screw goes through the piece that the through bolt attaches to.  I will make a new piece and try that.

You set the bar high, Jack. I see Canadian influence, Chuck Bordman influence, Bev Pinney influence, a dab of John Louis influence and a whole lot of Parkenfarker influence in that rifle. To have gathered all that talent into one rifle is really quite unique. Hoping you bring it To Tommys' this summer.

I like it, really, I do.  Smiley
