Match Results
Chinquapin Schuetzen Event
29 & 30 September, 2023

The Chinquapin SV was blessed with another near perfect shooting weekend.  We had fair skies, unseasonably warm temperatures and only light breeze for most of the shooting time on both days.  In fact, the only downside to the whole weekend was when Dale Flinchum’s gun case blew over and hit his rifle, knocking it off the rack and damaging his scope.  We all felt his pain when it came crashing down!  Otherwise, our 10 shooters had a great time.  We even had a guest appearance from “Cpt Curl”.  Good to see you, Roscoe.  Come back and bring a gun or two!  The results were as follows;

Center Fire Offhand 200 Yards
Steve Reynolds      186-0c

Center Fire Bench 200 Yards
Ray Hoagland        246-6c
Jim Rowe                241-3c
Steve Reynolds        226-0c

Rimfire Bench 100 Yards
Jim Rowe                     246-8c
Ray Hoagland           245-6c
Susan Cohen            242-3c
James Parker             236-0c
Stuart Mahler             235-1c
Bryan Parker             215-1c

Rimfire Offhand 100 Yards
James Parker             168-0c

Center Fire Bench 100 Yards
Ray Hoagland             247-7c
Tim Kuntz                     224-1c
Daniel Smith             205-0c

Thanks to all who participated and especially to James and Ray for their help putting things together.  Hope to see everyone in June of 2024!

Best Wishes.

Thanks to our schuetzenmeister, the Green Frog. He put it all together and has kept the tradition of Chinquapin alive. He graciously and generously suggests some amazing scores were shot offhand at 200. Well, uh, at least mine was fired from the bench.
Take a break, Charlie. You did good!

You had me scratching my head there SR… I’ve been known to make a mistake entering a score or two, but I don’t think I’ve ever screwed up a whole category (at least not to publish.)  Roll Eyes  Better have another cup of coffee  Grin!
Thanks again to all who participated and especially to
Ray and James for helping with preparation.  The folks at Brushy Mtn Club also have been gracious hosts ever since Chinquapin SV made its move here, and things were uncommonly good this time.  Looking forward to June, 2024!  Smiley
