Oh yea for sure. I’ve seen a tube case bring $2000 and that was like twelve years ago.

I have an Original M1941 , and that scope would really complement and complete it. BUT, no way I would spend that kind of money on a rifle I paid $45 for in 1960s

I'll be watching this auction just for the fun of seeing where it ends. Not a military collector myself, but I always like seeing what old scopes get at auctions.

Twenty years ago I had a chance to buy the complete USMC 1941 rifle package along with the data book(9 documented kills) for $3200. A steal I know but no funds at the time. At least I got to hold a true piece of history.

Fortunately the US does not allow sniper scopes to be shipped across the border to Canada - so I could not bid on it.

You guys afraid of terrorist Canadians?
You know we are not very accurate shooters.

I was in the Army.  I could not bring myself to bid on a scope used by the Marines!

I bought a 71 Dodge Dart Demon for $400 in 1983 from my old neighbor. It had 35k miles on it.What did I do.,what an 18 year old does, run it hard and wreak it!!
who knew....

I bet that rifle would be 20k now!

When I dropped out of college after only 1 1/2 quarters, I called the draft board and they said I had 30 days before I would be drafted.  I called the other Navy and Air Force and they had long waiting lists.  I am sure I would not have made the cut in the Marines.  It was Army life for me for 2 years and 8 months.  24 months in Vietnam in an advisory unit running radios in a command center.

Today, a Demon with the mileage yours started out with and still in decent shape could easily bring $20K and very possibly considerably more.
